Some 10 patients were treated on trolleys at Naas Hospital today, having been admitted through the accident and emergency department – the same number as St James’s Hospital.

The most overcrowded facility in the eastern region was St Vincent’s Hospital where 32 people were on trolleys.

There were no patients on trolleys at Tullamore Hospital or Tallaght Hospital, while there was one patients on a trolley at Portlaoise Hospital.
