Bundee Aki and Jason Kelce at Croke Park on Sunday.
Connacht Rugby ace Bundee Aki was spotted mingling with several NFL stars as he attended Croke Park to watch Pittsburgh Steelers defeat the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
Fresh from the British & Irish Lions tour to Australia which concluded with a Test series win in August, Aki was spotted on the pitch exchanging a jersey with Steelers running back Kenneth Gainwell, who proved to be one of the the stars of the evening.
Aki was later pictured with former Philadelphia Eagles centre and 2018 Super Bowl champion Jason Kelce in the corporate area of GAA HQ.
More than 70,000 fans visited Croke Park to take in the first-ever regular season NFL game on Irish soil as the Steelers edged a 24-21 victory over the Vikings.
Two touchdowns from Gainwell ultimately proved decisive as the Steelers raced to a 21-6 lead before a powerful response from the Vikings turned the showpiece event into a nailbiter.
The attempted comeback ultimately proved to be too little, too late as the Steelers held on to maintain their position atop the AFC North division.
It was a proud weekend for Galway-based fans of the NFL, with local band Clada delivering a showstopping performance in front of the Hill 16 during an intermission.
The Connemara folk group has enjoyed a meteoric rise since arriving on the scene last year and shared their delight with the opportunity on social media.
“We had the pleasure of playing to over 74,000 people during the Steelers x Vikings game yesterday in Croke Park!
“To say we’re not over this experience would be an understatement, it was so much fun,” they added.
