Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco tied the knot on Saturday, September 27, with a gorgeous ceremony featuring family and friends. Of course, their nuptials featured Selena’s mom, Mandy Teefey, who debunked rumors that she was snubbed on her daughter’s special day.

The Wondermind co-founder confirmed that Selena’s grandfather, David Cornett, walked her down the aisle in a sweet Instagram post she shared on Sunday, September 28.

“What a perfect celebration for the most kick ass couple I know!” Mandy wrote alongside photos of Sel and Benny, adding, “The evening couldn’t have been more beautiful and perfect! Absolutely flawless! All my love to my beautiful daughter @selenagomez and to the greatest son in law @itsbennyblanco!!!”

“It was a fairytale come true and it was beyond heartwarming watching my father walk her down the aisle!!! XO,” Mandy wrote.

While the comments section of her post was limited, some fans questioned why her ex-husband and Selena’s father, Ricardo Joel Gomez, didn’t do the honors of walking her down the aisle.

Mandy didn’t reply, but she did debunk any speculation that she was snubbed from doing it herself in the comments section of Page Six’s report, writing, “This is ludacris [sic]! It was heartwarming [watching] him walk her down the aisle!”

In 2024, Selena got candid about her relationship with Mandy, who had her when she was 16. She likened their dynamic to Rory and Lorelai Gilmore from Gilmore Girls, and also pointed out similarities to Saoirse Ronan’s character in Blitz! while speaking with the actor for Variety’s Actors on Actors series.

Sel said she and Mandy were “growing up together,” adding, “My mom and I supported each other from the beginning.” The Only Murders in the Building star shared a story about Mandy protecting her while getting ready for a movie premiere when she was 16. She told her daughter to enjoy the screening but to skip the after-party, “You can have fun, but then you go home.”
