Equities on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rallied in early trade today, extending their gains for the second consecutive session.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, gained 46.33 points, or 0.85 percent, to 5,436.10 by 12:12 pm, according to DSE data.

The mood was positive across the board as both the Shariah-compliant DSES and the blue-chip DS30 rose.
Turnover, an indicator of investor activity, reached Tk 347.49 crore at the time.
Market breadth was mostly positive, with 287 issues advancing against 50 declining, and 55 holding steady.
Among the notable moves, Social Islami Bank shot up 10 percent to top the gainers’ list, while NCCBL Mutual Fund-1 slid 8.33 percent, posting the worst fall of the session so far.
