In light of Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s brief suspension, fellow late night host Jimmy Fallon has shared his thoughts on how he wants things to run at \u201cThe Tonight Show.\u201d<\/p>\n

While appearing on CNBC\u2019s \u201cSquawk on the Street,\u201d<\/a> Fallon was asked about the past\u00a0\u201ceventful couple of weeks\u201d<\/a> in late night programming during a discussion about his new reality series, \u201cOn Brand.\u201d The show\u2019s host then inquired whether Fallon had given any thought to how he plans to structure his program going forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur show\u2019s never really been that political. We hit both sides equally, and we try to make everybody laugh, and that\u2019s really the way our show really works,\u201d Fallon said. \u201cOur monologues are kind of the same that we\u2019ve been doing since Johnny Carson was doing \u2018The Tonight Show.\u2019 So, really, I just keep my head down and make sure the jokes are funny.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fallon went on to champion his staff, saying that he has \u201cgreat writers, clever, smart writers.\u201d<\/p>\n

His remarks come after Kimmel\u2019s show returned from a six-day suspension following backlash from conservatives over his comments about the assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Shortly after Kimmel was suspended, Fallon said on his show<\/a>, \u201cTo be honest with you all. I don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on and no one does. But I do know Jimmy Kimmel. And he\u2019s a decent, funny and loving guy and I hope he comes back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kimmel made his return to late night<\/a> on Sept. 23. The following day, ABC reported that the broadcast attracted 6.3 million viewers and earned over 26 million views on various social media platforms.<\/p>\n
