{"id":101904,"date":"2025-10-03T22:58:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-03T22:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/101904\/"},"modified":"2025-10-03T22:58:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T22:58:08","slug":"carpenter-before-court-in-laois-after-buying-insurance-on-facebook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/101904\/","title":{"rendered":"Carpenter before court in Laois after buying insurance on Facebook"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A carpenter who bought insurance on Facebook appeared before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leinsterexpress.ie\/section\/728\/crime-court\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Portlaoise District Court<\/a> for driving while uninsured.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Egidijus Bertasius (46) of Balladine Road, Abbeyleix, pleaded guilty to driving without insurance on the Ridge Road in Portlaoise on May 9, 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the man was stopped while driving on the Ridge Road at 8.30pm on the date in question and his vehicle was seized for not having insurance.
