Ireland striker Adam Idah would finally get off the mark at new club Swansea City, netting his first for the club in the loss to Leicester City after his summer arrival from Celtic.<\/p>\n

The Cork man would make a rather surprise exit from Parkhead in August. While he had been questioned by some of the club’s supporters, it was expected that the 24-year old would be playing his football at Celtic this season.<\/p>\n

Idah admitted after his exit that the pressure in Glasgow had been immense, although it seems as though he was keen to continue on at the club.<\/p>\n

Packie Bonner Reveals Truth Behind Adam Idah’s Shock Exit From Celtic<\/strong><\/p>\n

While Adam Idah ultimately sanctioned his move to Swansea City, it has been claimed that the player had been happy to remain at Celtic.<\/p>\n

Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland, former Ireland and Celtic goalkeeper Packie Bonner hinted that the Cork native was pushed towards the exit door by the club after they received a sizeable bid for his services.<\/p>\n

By the way, Adam Idah didn\u2019t want to go. Adam did not want to go. Adam Idah was let go because Celtic got a decent fee for him.<\/p>\n

And to be honest, I think if he was still here, he scored 20 last year, and that\u2019s a decent return for a player who people think isn\u2019t good enough.<\/p>\n

Imagine him and Iheanacho now fighting for that number one spot, or coming off the bench and one playing and one not playing, or whatever.<\/p>\n

I think that would have been a really good competition for very similar type players. But just to point that out, Adam Idah did not want to go.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Celtic would leave themselves short of options up front after Adam Idah’s exit, ultimately signing Kelechi Iheanacho on a free transfer after the end of the transfer window. Clearly, they felt the rumoured fee of \u00a36million plus add-ons was too good to turn down.<\/p>\n

From the player’s perspective, he will be hoping to make a big impact in the Championship this season as he attempts to get his club career back on track.<\/p>\n
