{"id":106984,"date":"2025-10-07T16:23:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T16:23:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/106984\/"},"modified":"2025-10-07T16:23:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T16:23:08","slug":"first-wendys-restaurant-in-ireland-opens-in-cork","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/106984\/","title":{"rendered":"First Wendy&#8217;s restaurant in Ireland opens in Cork"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">The first Wendy\u2019s restaurant in Ireland opened in Mahon Point Shopping Centre in Cork today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The new site has created over 50 new jobs in Cork.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> As part of its commitment to the Irish market, Wendy\u2019s will use 100% fresh Irish beef and hand-breaded chicken burgers across its menu.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Corrib Oil was announced last year as Wendy\u2019s franchise partner in Ireland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Founded in 1987, Corrib Oil currently operates 40 convenience stores with forecourts and 20 fuel depots across 17 counties. The partnership with Wendy\u2019s is a key part of Corrib Oil\u2019s broader expansion strategy in Ireland, which aims to more than double its national footprint to 100 locations by 2030 and continue to grow its home heating distribution and fuel card business.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> Over the coming years, Corrib plans to open ten Wendy\u2019s locations across the country as both standalone Wendy\u2019s restaurants and Wendy\u2019s locations at select Corrib Oil service stations, creating more than 300 jobs nationwide.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Further Wendy\u2019s locations in Ireland will be announced in due course.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> Michael Dalton, managing director of Corrib Brands said:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\n            \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to open the first Wendy\u2019s in Ireland here in Mahon Point.
