{"id":107273,"date":"2025-10-07T21:13:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T21:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/107273\/"},"modified":"2025-10-07T21:13:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T21:13:08","slug":"conor-mcgregor-accepts-18-month-sanction-over-missed-doping-tests-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/107273\/","title":{"rendered":"Conor McGregor accepts 18-month sanction over missed doping tests \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Former featherweight and lightweight champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/conor-mcgregor\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/conor-mcgregor\/\">Conor McGregor<\/a> has accepted an 18-month sanction for a violation of anti-doping policy, the UFC confirmed on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">In a statement on their website, the MMA promotion said McGregor missed three attempts by Combat Sports Anti-Doping to collect biological samples from him in 2024 \u2013 on June 13th, September 19th, and September 20th \u2013 leading to so-called \u201cwhereabouts failures\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cMcGregor fully co-operated with CSAD\u2019s investigation, accepted responsibility, and provided detailed information that CSAD determined contributed to the missed tests,\u201d the UFC said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cTaking McGregor\u2019s co-operation and circumstances into account, CSAD reduced the standard 24-month sanction for three whereabouts failures by six months.
