Shirley Ballas<\/a> has released an emotional tribute to a former Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> star following their death. The judge shared a sad statement on social media after Michael Wentink’s death.<\/p>\n The former judge on Strictly Come Dancing’s South Africa show was just 46 when he died. On Instagram, Shirley wrote: “Michael wasn\u2019t just part of my life, he was like family. He wasn\u2019t just an incredible dancer, he was a kind, caring soul who brought so much joy, warmth, and laughter into our lives.<\/p>\n “His loyalty and love were unmatched, and his smile was irreplaceable. He spent many days at my house, he loved the children and would forever be checking in. One of the kindest souls I\u2019ve had the pleasure of crossing paths with.”<\/p>\n She went on: “I\u2019ll never forget suggesting this aqua suit to Michael, and he just laughed saying, \u201cLet\u2019s give it a go, Shirls.\u201d @alanate11 did hair and as a team we all pulled it together so very beautifully. Michael and Beata danced magnificently and won. That\u2019s a day I\u2019ll carry with me forever. You touched so many lives, Michael, and I\u2019m blessed to have been one of them.<\/p>\n “With a heavy heart, I\u2019ll miss you deeply. Rest in peace, my friend, alongside your beautiful Beata. Forever in our hearts. X”<\/p>\n Shirley shared a collection of images with Michael to her Instagram feed. Among them were snaps and clips of them performing together, as well as a photo of Michael by himself at the end.<\/p>\n A host of other stars took to the comments section on Shirley’s post to share messages of condolence. Among them was Ashley Roberts. The former Pussycat Dolls singer said: “Sending love. Love watching you dance.” She also included a broken heart emoji.<\/p>\n Fellow professional dancer Vadim Garbuzov also wrote:”Him and Beata were the first professional showcase i have ever seen live, it was in Kyiv 2001, it was fantastic. Rest in peace, what a great influential champion he was.”<\/p>\n Michael’s death was confirmed by his dance partner and close friend, Ralf Lepehne, who had shared his own tribute to the star. He said: “While our world is dimmer without him, Michael’s spirit, laughter and his profound passion for dance will live on in our hearts forever. May you finally find the peace you so deserved, Michael.”<\/p>\n In a special Facebook post, Ralf also said of Michael: “Yet behind the trophies and the spotlight was the man we knew and loved\u2014a dear friend and partner, a kind soul whose light touched our lives deeply.<\/p>\n “For years, he was engaged in a long and deeply private struggle, battling the relentless weight of depression with a quiet courage known only to those closest to him.
