\n\tAustin Butler<\/a> is always committed to his stunts in movies and he\u2019ll \u201cjust deal with the bruises later.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring a recent interview with Men\u2019s Health<\/a>, the Oscar-nominated actor recalled how he \u201calmost cracked\u201d a rib while filming a fight scene for his new movie, Caught Stealing<\/a>, directed by Darren Aronofsky.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe [Aronofsky] put me through the ringer on this film. It\u2019s a lot of running away from people chasing me with cars and getting beaten up repeatedly,\u201d he said. \u201cI get beaten up by these two Russians in this film. This one \u2014 Nikita [Kukushkin], who\u2019s a short king\u00a0\u2014\u00a0he\u2019s got so much power. When he was kicking me, he didn\u2019t want to kick me very hard. He felt bad and I kept telling him, \u2018Just kick me. Just kick me harder.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, after watching back some takes, Butler could tell his scene partner was still holding back as \u201cit doesn\u2019t look real.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSo he starts really laying into me and kicking me hard,\u201d the Dune: Part Two actor continued. \u201cBut then he had this idea of headbutting me in the side like a little ram or something. And he did it so hard it almost cracked my rib with his head. I was very impressed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tButler also recounted a scene where he was thrown on a table by his co-star, Bad Bunny, as well as the Russians.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThey had made a soft table that was made of some sort of foam,\u201d he said. \u201cEvery time they would hit me on it, the whole thing would bow. And I\u2019m not wearing anything, so you can\u2019t hide pads anywhere. And Darren was like, \u2018It looks fake.\u2019 And so they said, \u2018Just bring the wooden table.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThat\u2019s when \u201cthey just start slamming me onto this wooden table wearing nothing,\u201d the Elvis actor continued. \u201cIt\u2019s little things like that with the camera angles, you can\u2019t use a stunt double. Did have an amazing stunt double, but for the most part, I\u2019ll just say, \u2018Yeah, let\u2019s go. I\u2019ll just deal with the bruises later.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tButler later joked that he felt \u201cridiculous\u201d talking about his stunt work \u201cwhen you have Tom Cruise doing what he does<\/a>. I\u2019m talking about being slammed into a table. Tom Cruise is hanging off an airplane. \u2026 He\u2019s the peak. I\u2019m so silly.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCaught Stealing<\/a>, which also stars Zo\u00eb Kravitz, follows former baseball player Hank Thompson, who unexpectedly finds himself entangled in a dangerous struggle for survival amidst the criminal underbelly of 1990s New York City.
