{"id":107912,"date":"2025-10-08T03:49:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-08T03:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/107912\/"},"modified":"2025-10-08T03:49:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-08T03:49:07","slug":"conor-mcgregor-accepts-18-month-ban-for-ufc-anti-doping-violation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/107912\/","title":{"rendered":"Conor McGregor accepts 18-month ban for UFC anti-doping violation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Conor McGregor has accepted an 18-month ban for a violation of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy.<\/p>\n<p>The Irish fighter missed three attempted biological sample collections within a 12-month period in 2024, according to Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD).<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">His suspension began on September 20 2024 and will conclude on March 20 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The CSAD noted McGregor was recovering from an injury and not preparing for an upcoming fight at the time of the three missed tests.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Taking his cooperation and circumstances into account, the CSAD said it reduced the standard 24-month sanction by six months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">McGregor recently claimed he had signed to fight on next year\u2019s UFC White House card, scheduled for June 14 \u2013 the 80th birthday of US president Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">On Saturday, UFC president Dana White denied those claims.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">McGregor has not fought since July 2021 when he suffered a badly broken leg in a fight against Dustin Poirier.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Conor McGregor has accepted an 18-month ban for a violation of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy.
