The Heather Humphreys campaign has deleted and reuploaded a video of a visit to Belfast, which originally featured footage of Germany’s parliament.<\/p>\n

Ms Humphreys made a visit to Northern Ireland on Monday<\/a>, visiting Ulster University and a number of other venues, including St Dominic’s School on the Falls Road, which counts Mary McAleese as a former student.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, her campaign uploaded a video of the visit in which she pledged to be “a president for all”. However, in place of footage of Belfast City Hall, the video used a clip of the Bundestag in Berlin, with a German flag visible flying above.<\/p>\n

After the Irish Examiner queried the mistake, a new version of the video was uploaded, which features the correct building.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said: “A mistake was made in production and has been rectified. Where issues are brought to our attention, we seek to address them quickly.”<\/p>\n

Ms Humphreys, who is from a Protestant background and grew up in the border county of Monaghan, described herself as a person who wants to unify the country, bring people together, build bridges, and follow in the steps of Ms McAleese in \u201creaching out the hand of friendship\u201d.<\/p>\n

Despite residents in Northern Ireland not having a vote in the presidential election, Ms Humphreys said she felt it was important to come.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s important that I come here, and it\u2019s important that I am in this school where Mary McAleese, the last Ulster woman who was president of Ireland, and in fact the first Ulster woman who was president of Ireland, [attended],\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

During last Sunday’s second presidential election debate<\/a>, Ms Humphreys said she would “work to build bridges” in the North and had a “unique understanding” of its communities.<\/p>\n
