\n\tJeff Bridges<\/a> revived The Dude from \u201cThe Big Lebowski<\/a>\u201d during the Oct. 7 episode of \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d to ask 2025 America an important question: \u201cCan we just all calm the fuck down?\u201d The Oscar winner was on the late-night show to promote his new movie, \u201cTron: Ares,\u201d but Kimmel had a different idea for the performer.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe are in such a troubled time, I think, is a good way to say it,\u201d Kimmel said. \u201cPeople are getting crazier every day and I wonder if you could perhaps summon The Dude to share some words of wisdom tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKimmel conveniently whipped out a cardigan and a pair of sunglasses to help Bridges channel The Dude, which remains one of his most iconic characters. The actor happily agreed and was handed a White Russian to sip on, helping him complete his transformation.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHey world, The Dude here,\u201d Bridges said in character. \u201cSo, uh, yeah, man. Can we just all calm the fuck down? I mean, c\u2019mon. I\u2019m talking about, you know, all the wars, the fighting, the canceling. I mean, let\u2019s just chill out, man. C\u2019mon, tone it down. We\u2019re, like, at what? A nine? We ought to be at zero. Or zero and a half at max.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cICE? Let\u2019s get ICE off our streets and into our beverages, man,\u201d Bridges then said as the studio audience roared with cheers. \u201cThis aggression will not stand. Right? So let\u2019s just abide. Abide\u00a0together. Yes, we can do this. Now, that\u2019s just, like, my opinion, but it\u2019s a good one, don\u2019t you think, Jimmy?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s a pretty great opinion,\u201d Kimmel responded.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Dude debuted in \u201cThe Big Lebowski,\u201d Joel and Ethan Coen\u2019s 1998 crime comedy starring Bridges opposite John Goodman, Julianne Moore, Steve Buscemi and John Turturro. Bridges played Jeffrey \u201cThe Dude\u201d Lebowski, a formerly committed activist who had sulked into L.A. slackerdom. The plot kicks off after he gets assaulted when criminals mistake him for a millionaire with the same name.<\/p>\n
