Nicole Kidman sat down for an interview just weeks before her and Keith Urban\u2019s divorce was confirmed and she shared insight into how she views change.<\/p>\n

During an interview with Vogue<\/a>, Kidman alluded to facing a new chapter in life, saying, \u201cHow many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going, and then it isn\u2019t going in that direction?\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cBig Little Lies\u201d actress also reflected on what exactly it meant to protect her peace in other facets of her life, including opting not to attend the 2024 Venice Film Festival, where she was to be awarded best actress, after the death of her mother, Janelle Kidman.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone was saying, \u2018You\u2019ve still got to go and accept the award. And I just sat for a minute and I went, \u2018No, I can\u2019t, I don\u2019t, and I won\u2019t.\u2019 My sense of duty and of being a good girl is so strong. At this ageI\u2019m protecting myself when I need to. It\u2019s my right\u2014as Virginia Woolf used to say\u2014it\u2019s my right as a human being.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since her public separation, the Oscar winner has remained mum on the matter, even at her first public appearance<\/a>, since the news broke.<\/p>\n
