Sky Sports pundits Roy Keane and Gary Neville were both on the same wavelength over who could replace Ruben Amorim as Manchester United manager at Old Trafford.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has publicly backed Ruben Amorim<\/a> as the head coach of Manchester United<\/a> after the Premier League club\u2019s disappointing start to the new season.<\/p>\n

United are 10th in the Premier League table under Amorim<\/a> and the Red Devils have won three of their opening seven league matches in the 2025-26 campaign.<\/p>\n

However, the Red Devils\u2019 run of form has been sporadic under the 40-year-old United manager<\/a> and the club have lacked consistency with their results.<\/p>\n

United have still not won back-to-back Premier League matches under Amorim since Ineos<\/a> and Red Devils co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe<\/a> brought him to Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim received major support from Ineos in the summer after Sir Jim Ratcliffe\u2019s regime committed to a summer spending spree for Manchester United.<\/p>\n

The former Sporting CP head coach received five new summer signings for the 2025-26 season, including the likes of Bryan Mbeumo<\/a> and Matheus Cunha<\/a>.<\/p>\n

United\u2019s underwhelming start to the campaign has cast major speculation over Ineos and Ratcliffe\u2019s commitment to Amorim in the managerial role for the long term.<\/p>\n

Roy Keane<\/a> told fellow United legend Gary Neville<\/a> that he would want Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone at Old Trafford if Amorim were sacked from the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve said it for years,\u201d he said on The Overlap\u2019s Stick to Football podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d like to see, I\u2019d like Atletico Madrid, Simeone [to] go in there. I\u2019d like to see him go in there.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know his mate\u2019s gone to Arsenal, but I think he would just create a havoc, but good havoc. I think he\u2019d rock up to that place and say, \u2018This is how you do things.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cNo guarantee, but I just like to see his personality, even his track record.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gary Neville\u2019s reaction to Roy Keane backing Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone for the Man Utd head coach role<\/strong><\/p>\n

Diego Simeone has been linked with United before and the longstanding Atletico Madrid manager has impressed during his time at the La Liga club in Spain.<\/p>\n

The 55-year-old Argentine has lifted two La Liga titles, two Europa League trophies and a Copa del Rey during his prolific managerial spell at the Metropolitano Stadium.<\/p>\n

Simeone has been with Atletico since his exit from Argentine side Racing Club in 2011 and Neville approved of Keane\u2019s pick of Simeone as a future United manager.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019d go with that. I\u2019d go with Simeone,\u201d Neville added.<\/p>\n
