Francia Raisa is publicly shutting down rumors that she has fallen out with longtime friend Selena Gomez<\/a>. The \u201cBeyond Paradise\u201d star, who donated a kidney to Gomez in 2017 during the singer\u2019s lupus battle, spoke candidly about the swirling speculation regarding their relationship.<\/p>\n

In an interview filmed just days before Gomez\u2019s wedding, Raisa addressed claims that she confronted the singer over smoking after her kidney transplant.<\/p>\n

Raisa told Univision\u2019s Primer Impacto<\/a>, \u201cRight now what you\u2019re asking me is nonsense\u2026 There are too many rumors.\u201d She added, \u201cWhen that rumor came out that I had gotten angry or something because Selena was smoking, I wasn\u2019t aware of those rumors.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cWhat you\u2019re asking me are rumors. No one knows what\u2019s going on, and neither she nor I are talking about it. One day, maybe we will address it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Raisa donated one of her kidneys after Gomez suffered from lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease she was diagnosed with in 2013, which led to complications such as kidney damage and required a kidney transplant.<\/p>\n

Recently, fans speculated that Raisa was not invited to Gomez\u2019s private wedding to Benny<\/a> Blanco<\/a>. While discussing the transplant, Raisa did mention the union, saying, \u201cI know she\u2019s getting married, and I\u2019m very happy for her. And look\u2026 she has a life, and she is already a billionaire, and I am grateful that I could do that for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Raisa and Gomez seemed to reconnect in 2023, with Gomez posting a birthday tribute to Raisa on social media. That same year, she attended Gomez\u2019s inaugural Rare Impact Fund Benefit and told Extra TV<\/a>, \u201cWe trauma-bonded, which is beautiful, but also it can get rocky and tricky. People grow, relationships change.\u201d<\/p>\n
