U2 band members The Edge and Adam Clayton were among the speakers today at the Venturewave Capital Impact Ireland convention.<\/p>\n

The convention brought together investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and innovators from around the world to strengthen Ireland\u2019s position as a global hub for impact investing.<\/p>\n

It was hosted by the Global Advisory Council of Venturewave Capital and supported by Bank of America.<\/p>\n

Global finance giant Bank of America is increasing its investment in the Impact Ireland Fund, an investment vehicle formed by Dublin-headquartered Venturewave Capital and backed by The Edge.<\/p>\n

Adam Clayton and The Edge are both members of Venturewave\u2019s advisory council.<\/p>\n

Taoiseach Miche\u00e1l Martin was also a speaker at today\u2019s event.<\/p>\n

The conference sessions ended with a fireside chat with Patrick Collison, co-founder and CEO of payments giant Stripe.<\/p>\n

Other speakers included Ron O\u2019Hanley, CEO of State Street, and Eileen Murray, former Co-CEO of Bridgewater Associates. Other speakers included Karen Fang, Managing Director and Global Head of Sustainable & Infrastructure Finance Bank of America<\/p>\n

Venturewave invests both in Irish-founded businesses and in international ventures that expand to and from Ireland to accelerate their growth.<\/p>\n

The Impact Ireland fund invests in projects and enterprises in the energy, education, agriculture, sustainable finance and health sectors.<\/p>\n
