Robbie Williams<\/a>\u00a0covered Wet Leg<\/a>\u2018s \u2018Chaise Longue\u2019 in the Radio 1 Anthems Live Lounge, changing some of the lyrics to jokingly nod to his career.<\/p>\n

The artist altered a line in the song\u2019s first verse from \u201cI went to school and I got a degree,\u201d to \u201cI joined Take That and got a pop star degree.\u201d\u00a0Later on, he interpolated some lines from his own hit, \u2018Candy\u2019 and the \u201cHey, ho, let\u2019s go,\u201d refrain from The Ramones<\/a>\u2018 \u2018Blitzkrieg Bop\u2019.<\/p>\n

While he was in the studio, he also played his own song \u2018Old Before I Die\u2019.<\/p>\n

Williams previously revealed in 2022 he wanted to work with the Isle Of Wight duo<\/a>, though admitted: \u201cI don\u2019t know if they\u2019d want to work with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last night (October 9), Williams played his smallest-ever ticketed show in London<\/a> last night, where he ran through his debut album in full, as well as performing his upcoming record \u2018BRITPOP\u2019 in its entirety.<\/p>\n

The phone-free gig at Dingwalls in Camden, north London, had been announced to celebrate the release of the 90s-inspired \u2018BRITPOP\u2019, which was initially set to arrive today (Friday October 10). However, the LP was recently delayed until early 2026 due to \u201cscheduling issues\u201d<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019re all pretending it\u2019s not about\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/a>, but it fucking is,\u201d Williams told the crowd.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s the truth: I want 16 Number One albums. Taylor then decided to put her album out the same weekend as me. I was like, \u2018For fuck\u2019s sake! I\u2019ll put it out the next week\u2019, and they were like, \u2018She does these other deluxe versions\u2019. I was like, \u2018Fucking hell! Can I put it out the week after that then?\u2019 They were like, \u2018Oasis<\/a>\u00a0might be around then\u2019\u2026 \u2018For fuck\u2019s sake! Let\u2019s do it in fucking February when no one\u2019s got an album out\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI was worried about making you all fucking wait, and then I was like, \u2018Fuck it! I want a 16th Number One album!\u2019 I\u2019m sorry, but I\u2019m fucking being selfish. How many times in your life do you get to have the most Number One albums the UK\u2019s ever fucking had?\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier in the set, Williams had shared the news on stage that he would be playing a run of\u00a0intimate UK shows in early 2026, dubbed the \u2018Long \u201990s\u2019 tour<\/a>. The brief stint includes a stop at London\u2019s O2 Brixton Academy on February 8.
