{"id":115396,"date":"2025-10-11T11:25:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-11T11:25:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/115396\/"},"modified":"2025-10-11T11:25:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-11T11:25:07","slug":"donald-trump-in-exceptional-health-his-doctor-says-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/115396\/","title":{"rendered":"Donald Trump in \u2018exceptional health\u2019, his doctor says \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">US president <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/donald-trump\/\">Donald Trump<\/a> is in \u201cexceptional health\u201d, his doctor said after he underwent a check-up that included lab tests and preventive health assessments at Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Mr Trump spent roughly three hours at the hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, for what his doctor, navy captain Sean Barbabella, called a \u201cscheduled follow-up evaluation\u201d that was a \u201cpart of his ongoing health maintenance plan\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">While there, the president also got his yearly flu shot, as well as a Covid-19 booster vaccine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cPresident Donald J Trump remains in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological and physical performance,\u201d Capt Barbabella wrote in a one-page memo released by the White House.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The doctor noted in the memo that the evaluation helped prepare for Mr Trump\u2019s upcoming overseas trips and included advanced imaging, lab testing and preventive health assessments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The president is travelling to the Middle East this weekend and is scheduled to fly to Asia at the end of this month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Capt Barbabella also said he evaluated Mr Trump\u2019s cardiac age, which was about 14 years younger than his chronological age.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Mr Trump is 79 and was the oldest US president at his inauguration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The White House this week initially described Mr Trump\u2019s Walter Reed visit as a \u201croutine yearly check-up\u201d, although he had his annual physical in April.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The president then called it a \u201csemi-annual physical\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Mr Trump\u2019s April physical found that he was \u201cfully fit\u201d to serve as commander in chief.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"US president Donald Trump speaks in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington.
