{"id":115494,"date":"2025-10-11T12:33:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-11T12:33:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/115494\/"},"modified":"2025-10-11T12:33:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-11T12:33:09","slug":"bride-rovers-stun-st-itas-in-east-cork-junior-hurling-semi-despite-seamus-harnedys-0-6-from-play","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/115494\/","title":{"rendered":"Bride Rovers stun St Ita&#8217;s in East Cork Junior Hurling semi despite Seamus Harnedy&#8217;s 0-6 from play"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">\n             Bride Rovers 1-18 St Ita&#8217;s 1-15\u00a0\n        <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Bride Rovers have booked their place in the final of the East Cork JAHC Final following a deserved victory over St Ita&#8217;s at Dungourney on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Level at the interval, Rovers moved four points ahead midway through the second half before it almost came crashing down upon them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Ciaran O&#8217;Brien converted a 65, Seamus Harnedy was cool as a cucumber with the next 0-6 from play, and then came what looked like the game-changing moment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Daniel Hickey, who finished up with 1-4, was on hand to pounce on a breaking ball to fire to the back of the net to put his side in front on 50 minutes: 1-15 to 1-14.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">It was level again when the impressive Shaun Knox converted a free and he had Bride Rovers back in front this time from a 65. They moved three clear when Cormac Barry raised two white flags.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Ita&#8217;s had their chances but Hickey missed two crucial frees on the bounce which he would normally put over&#8230; small margins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The favourites actually only led on three occasions, though that included after Hickey&#8217;s late goal. In the end, Rovers&#8217; second team pulled off a huge upset.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Ita&#8217;s opening score was cancelled within an instant when Knox fired to the back of the net.
