{"id":116120,"date":"2025-10-11T20:10:13","date_gmt":"2025-10-11T20:10:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/116120\/"},"modified":"2025-10-11T20:10:13","modified_gmt":"2025-10-11T20:10:13","slug":"the-rubin-names-2025-art-prize-research-and-art-projects-grants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/116120\/","title":{"rendered":"The Rubin Names 2025 Art Prize, Research and Art Projects Grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art, which closed its brick and mortar New York space in 2024 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artnews.com\/art-news\/news\/rubin-museum-of-art-closes-new-york-space-new-model-1234694588\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">now operates as a \u201cglobal museum,\u201d<\/a> has named the recipient of its annual art prize, as well as the grantees for its research and art projects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe winner of the 2025\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.artnews.com\/t\/rubin-museum-himalayan-art-prize\/\" id=\"auto-tag_rubin-museum-himalayan-art-prize\" data-tag=\"rubin-museum-himalayan-art-prize\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rubin\u00a0Museum Himalayan Art Prize<\/a> is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artnews.com\/t\/khadhok\/\" id=\"auto-tag_khadhok\" data-tag=\"khadhok\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Khadhok<\/a> \u2013 Tibetan Artists\u2019 Collective. As part of the annual prize, which was established in 2024, recipients receive a $30,000 purse, making it the largest of its kind to support Himalayan artists. Its founding members include Lea Taake, Tashi Nyima, and Tenzin Melak. Photo by Tenzin Dorjee; they were inspired to form the group by the late Tibetan artist Jigme Choedak. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWe were deeply moved when we first heard about the award,\u201d\u00a0Khadhok\u2019s founding members said in a statement. \u201cAs a young collective, being recognized by an institution with such a long history in Himalayan art makes us feel truly seen and valued. This recognition strengthens our confidence and encourages us to keep growing. Most importantly, it changes what is possible for Khadhok, allowing us to build a strong foundation that truly lasts and supports artists and our community for many years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Rubin\u2019s 2025 Research and Art Projects grantees were also selected with 15 projects receiving $200,000 total. Also launched in 2024, the grant program supports art and research initiatives that promote the rich cultural legacy and living traditions of the Himalayan regions.\u00a0The 15 projects were selected from 132 total applications, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artnews.com\/t\/grants\/\" id=\"auto-tag_grants\" data-tag=\"grants\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">grants<\/a> ranging in cost from $3,000 to $25,000, depending on the scale, impact, and needs of each respective project.
