Kate Cassidy<\/a>\u00a0is opening up about her grieving processing following boyfriend Liam Payne<\/a>‘s sudden death nearly one year ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old influencer said she slipped into a two-month depression<\/a> after the One Direction<\/a> singer tragically\u00a0suffered a fatal fall off a hotel balcony on October 16, 2024.<\/p>\n

‘I was always just kind of doing nothing and just dealing with that grief and pain,’ she told Page Six<\/a> at a National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) benefit this week, adding she was ‘just not wanting to really live my life.’<\/p>\n

After several weeks, she said, ‘I finally realized, ok, I need to live my life, I need to get up, get out of bed.’<\/p>\n

Kate said she started by setting an alarm to get out of bed one hour earlier day after day.<\/p>\n

She then began ‘working out,’ ‘eating clean,’ and living her life not only for herself, but for Liam.<\/p>\n

Now she says she believes staying busy contributes to her maintaining a positive headspace.<\/p>\n

The blonde beauty explained, ‘I like to always like be up early, have a workout class planned, go for a nice walk, eat cleaner. I feel like, for me, being active always keeps my mind so much cleaner and healthier.’<\/p>\n

Remembering her partner fondly, she said, ‘He lit up any room. He was just so sweet, so funny. I\u2019ve never met anybody like him, and I\u2019m sure I probably won\u2019t ever meet anybody like him in my life.’<\/p>\n

She reflected, ‘In a way, I actually am glad that he\u2019s just going to be that one person. He was the best person I ever met.’<\/p>\n

An autopsy revealed 31-year-old Liam had alcohol and cocaine in his system at the time of his demise.<\/p>\n

Authorities also concluded that the star died while attempting to escape his hotel room after he was locked in by staff.<\/p>\n

Five people were initially charged with his death after he fell from a third-floor balcony at CasaSur Hotel in\u00a0Buenos Aires, Argentina.<\/p>\n

But in February BBC<\/a> reported that charges against a friend of Liam’s and two staff members were dropped.<\/p>\n

She captioned a video,\u00a0‘Happy birthday, Liam. I know you still have the sweetest tooth in heaven. I tried my best here but it\u2019s the thought that counts. Enjoy.’<\/p>\n

Kate also uploaded another video, a montage of memories featuring the two of them.<\/p>\n

It was captioned: ‘8.29.93. A special day for the most special soul. I miss you so much. Happy Birthday Liam. I wish we could celebrate together.
