{"id":11642,"date":"2025-08-20T13:23:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-20T13:23:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/11642\/"},"modified":"2025-08-20T13:23:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T13:23:07","slug":"arsenal-blow-as-ornstein-reveals-bombshell-on-key-stars-knee-injury-as-romano-confirms-new-signing-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/11642\/","title":{"rendered":"Arsenal blow as Ornstein reveals bombshell on key star&#8217;s &#8216;knee injury&#8217; as Romano confirms &#8216;new signing&#8217; plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to reports, Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has suffered a \u2018knee injury\u2019 and the Premier League giants are \u2018exploring\u2019 the market for a replacement.<\/p>\n<p>The Athletic\u2019s David Ornstein has revealed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/tag\/kai-havertz\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Havertz<\/strong> <\/a>has suffered another injury, but the severity of his knee issue is currently unclear.<\/p>\n<p>Havertz has been a key player for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/arsenal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Arsenal<\/strong> <\/a>in recent years, though he was unavailable for most of last season\u2019s run-in as he suffered a hamstring tear.<\/p>\n<p>The former Chelsea star returned to fitness for the final couple of games of the 2024\/25 campaign, but the summer arrival of Viktor Gyokeres has seen him drop in the pecking order.<\/p>\n<p>Still, Havertz remains a vital part of Arsenal\u2019s squad and had been expected to get plenty of game time as Gyokeres settles in following his move from Sporting Lisbon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/mailbox-arsenal-embarrassment-out-played-man-utd-gyokeres\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arsenal \u2018gooning themselves\u2019 over being \u2018out-played\u2019 by Man Utd as \u2018flat-track bully\u2019 Gyokeres falters<\/a><br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, this is currently up in the air as <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6564371\/2025\/08\/20\/kai-havertz-injury-arsenal-latest\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ornstein confirms Havertz \u2018is set for a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury<\/a>\u2018.<\/p>\n<p>He added:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u2018The 26-year-old Germany international was not part of an open training session at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Assessments are at an early stage so the prognosis and duration of any lay-off is unclear. Arsenal are, however, actively exploring the transfer market to potentially reinforce their attack and cover the absence of Havertz.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Athletic\u2019s Arsenal expert James McNicholas has explained why Havertz\u2019s injury means they could be \u201cback where they started\u201d before landing Gyokeres.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Despite the signing of Gyokeres, Havertz has remained a big part of Arteta\u2019s plans. He missed much of the second half of last season after undergoing hamstring surgery, and the decision to sign Gyokeres was made partly to ensure Arsenal would have sufficient depth and quality in the centre-forward position. Currently, Merino and Trossard would be the Sweden international\u2019s immediate back-ups.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The prognosis for Havertz may also have an impact on Arsenal\u2019s plans in the remainder of the transfer window.
