With the first round of voting now underway, \u2018APT.\u2019 by BLACKPINK\u2019s Ros\u00e9 and KPop Demon Hunters\u2019 \u2018Golden\u2019 have both been submitted to the Recording Academy in hopes of being nominated, per a new report from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yna.co.kr\/view\/AKR20251013049500005?section=entertainment\/all\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Yonhap<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Both tracks were submitted in the Record of the Year and Song of the Year categories, with\u00a0 Ros\u00e9\u2019s album \u2018rosie\u2019 \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/blackpink-rose-bruno-mars-music-video-for-apt-3803950\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">on which the Bruno Mars-featuring \u2018APT.\u2019 appears<\/a> \u2013 and the soundtrack album of KPop Demon Hunters have also been submitted in the Album of the Year category.<\/p>\n<p>EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami provide the singing voices for HUNTR\/X, the fictional group at the centre of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/tag\/netflix\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Netflix<\/a>\u00a0animation,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/film\/kpop-demon-hunters-is-now-netflixs-most-watched-film-of-all-time-3887942\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">which recently became the most-watched movie in the streamer\u2019s history<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The trio previously performed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/tv\/benicio-del-toro-and-kpop-demon-hunters-singers-join-bad-bunny-on-snl-3897682\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an excerpt of the song in a sketch with Bad Bunny on Saturday Night Live<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/film\/kpop-demon-hunters-stars-debut-golden-live-on-jimmy-fallon-3897941\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recently marked their first full televised performance<\/a> of it on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/jimmy-fallon\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As for Ros\u00e9\u2019s\u00a0\u2018APT.\u2019, the track marked a milestone recently after garnering over 2billion views on YouTube, the first of her solo material to do so.<\/p>\n<p>That news came shortly after she became the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/rose-makes-history-as-first-k-pop-act-to-win-song-of-the-year-at-the-vmas-3890728\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">first-ever Korean act to win Song of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs)<\/a>. \u2018APT.\u2019 broke numerous records and topped charts following its release in October \u2013 also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/blackpink-rose-bruno-mars-apt-surpasses-billion-streams-spotify-3832148\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">becoming the fastest K-pop song to surpass one billion streams on Spotify<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The track was also named\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/lists\/the-50-best-songs-of-2024-3817596\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">one of\u00a0NME\u2019s\u00a0best 50 songs of 2024<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/lists\/end-of-year\/best-kpop-songs-2024-3820590\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">clinched the second spot on\u00a0NME\u2019s\u00a0list of the best 25 K-pop songs of the year<\/a>, with Sara Delgado saying that with \u201ca genius interpolation of Toni Basil\u2019s \u2018Mickey\u2019 and an infectiously funky chanted chorus, \u2018APT.\u2019 will go down in history as the perfect case study on how to launch a solo career.<\/p>\n<p>She joins other K-pop acts that have submitted their work for consideration for the Grammys, including SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, Ateez, Riize and Tomorrow X Together, as well as BLACKPINK, TWICE, KATSEYE, aespa, IVE and LE SSERAFIM and soloists Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, Jin, J-Hope and RM.<\/p>\n<p>The Grammys are introducing some changes to its categories ahead of next year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/the-grammys-are-introducing-new-rules-for-best-new-artist-categories-starting-in-2026-and-new-country-categories-3869842\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">including new rules for Best New Artist and some breakdowns of the country genre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In June, the Recording Academy announced some tweaks to its rules, including carving out a new stand-alone category for Best Album Cover.<\/p>\n<p>One of the biggest changes is the creation of two separate categories for country music: Best Traditional Country Album and Best Contemporary Country Album.
