\n\tReese Witherspoon<\/a> and Ryan Phillippe\u2019s daughter Ava Phillippe gave a nod to Y2K fashion<\/a> trends in a metallic minidress at the premiere of \u201cSplitsville\u201d<\/a> in Los Angeles on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the premiere, 25-year-old Phillippe wore a metallic silver ruched minidress with a form-fitting silhouette and sweetheart neckline. The minidress included small details of crystals at the base of the neckline for added textural juxtaposition.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe shiny fabric of the dress included ruching throughout. Phillippe\u2019s dress style was evocative of the mermaid trend and minidress silhouette of the early aughts. The actress and model continued the nod to mermaid style inspiration with her brunette wavy hair. Her makeup featured soft elements juxtaposed by bold brows and lined eyes.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Y2K minidress aesthetic is defined by short hems and often form-fitting silhouettes. Over the course of the last few years, celebrities like Tyla and Kristin Cavallari nodded to Y2K minidress styles with their looks by 16Arlington<\/a> and vintage John Galliano<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tPhillippe\u2019s dress also emphasized an element featured with actress Dakota Johnson\u2019s look as well. Johnson, who stars in \u201cSplitsville,\u201d wore a metallic silver strapless Gucci dress with a floor-length hem, which she paired with Roberto Coin jewelry.<\/p>\n

\n\tMetallic is on the rise. In July, WWD\u2019s Ari Stark noted the popularity of metallic looks featured as part of the fall 2025 couture<\/a> collections. \u201cWhile black was the color du jour at the Paris couture this season, a number of designers added razzle-dazzle, lifting the mood by way of metallics,\u201d Stark wrote.<\/p>\n
