more than a decade due to a new deal which has unlocked the title rights.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The coming-of-age sitcom, which was originally broadcast on E4 between 2008-2010, follows the misadventures of teenager Will MacKenzie and his friends Simon Cooper, Neil Sutherland and Jay Cartwright.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">On Monday it was announced that a new deal between Banijay UK and Fudge Park Productions, the company founded by the series\u2019 writers and creators, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, has unlocked the rights of the comedy title with the potential of its return across film, TV and stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Beesley and Morris said it was \u201cincredibly exciting to be plotting more adventures for our four favourite friends (ooh friends)\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Navigating school, friendship, lad culture and failed sexual encounters, the award-winning series starred <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/simon-bird\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/simon-bird\/\">Simon Bird<\/a>, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">The cast reprised their roles, following the success of the show, for two films which were released in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/culture\/film\/the-inbetweeners-movie-1.601825\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/culture\/film\/the-inbetweeners-movie-1.601825\">2011<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/culture\/film\/the-inbetweeners-2-review-bigger-and-bolder-if-not-quite-better-brilliant-1.1889303\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/culture\/film\/the-inbetweeners-2-review-bigger-and-bolder-if-not-quite-better-brilliant-1.1889303\">2014<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Jonathan Blyth, managing director at Fudge Park said: \u201cWe are thrilled to announce this exciting partnership with Banijay who share our vision and ambition for one of the most iconic comedies in British history.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThis is a wonderful moment for fans, there are exciting conversations afoot and more news to follow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall
