Salman Khan is currently juggling multiple projects, from shooting his upcoming war drama Battle of Galwan to hosting Bigg Boss Season 19. But this weekend\u2019s Weekend Ka Vaar episode stood out as the superstar finally addressed one of the biggest recent controversies surrounding him, the box office failure of his last film, Sikandar<\/a> and director Ar Murugadoss<\/a>‘s remarks. While the movie had generated massive buzz before its release, it failed to live up to expectations. Many critics even went on to call it Salman\u2019s “weakest film,” but the actor had a different take on the matter. Salman reacts to AR Murugadoss ‘blaming’ him for Sikandar failure
During the episode, Salman clarified that he doesn\u2019t regret doing Sikandar. He said that while the movie may not have clicked with the audience, he was proud of its story and believed in its emotional strength. Without taking names at first, Salman subtly addressed the comments made by Sikandar\u2019s director AR Murugadoss, who had earlier blamed the actor\u2019s delayed arrivals on set for the film\u2019s underperformance.
Reacting to this, Salman responded with his signature wit. He mentioned that he used to arrive on set around 9 PM, and that created issues. “This is what the director said but my rib was broken. Recently, another picture of his was released, and the actor of the film used to reach the set by 6.”<\/p>\n

Salman didn\u2019t stop there. He went on to take an indirect dig at Murugadoss\u2019 latest South release, Madharaasi, without naming the actor, Salman humorously added that Madharaasi<\/a> was a “very big blockbuster,” He said, “He has directed a film called Madharaasi. It is a very big and a bigger blockbuster than Sikandar.”<\/p>\n

According to Sacnilk, Madharaasi concluded its theatrical run with an estimated Rs 62.82 crore net (all languages) in India and a worldwide gross of around Rs 98.30 crore.
The actor also revealed that Sikandar was initially a joint project between AR Murugadoss and producer Sajid Nadiadwala. However, when things didn\u2019t go as planned, both gradually stepped back from the film. This revelation shed light on the behind-the-scenes issues that may have affected the project\u2019s outcome.

For the unversed, AR Murugadoss, in a post-release interview, had spoken about the challenges of working with Salman, saying that the late-night shoots disrupted the film\u2019s flow, especially when scenes involved young actors. He also admitted that despite having a strong emotional story, he couldn\u2019t execute it the way he wanted.<\/p>\n

Sikandar revolved around Sanjay Rajkot, played by Salman Khan, a royal who sets out to protect three people who received organ donations from his late wife, portrayed by Rashmika Mandanna. The plot mixed action with emotion, but audiences found it uneven in tone and pacing.<\/p>\n

Reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 200 crore, Sikandar managed to earn Rs 185 crore worldwide, according to Sacnilk, a rare miss for the Bollywood megastar. Despite the setback, Salman\u2019s composed yet witty response shows he\u2019s moving on without bitterness. Stay tuned!
