ShuterScoop<\/a> reports that Disney paid $100 million to secure the global rights to both Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era and The Final Show (a full concert film of the final Vancouver stop of the Eras Tour).<\/p>\nSources say the deal is “unprecedented” and that “Netflix and Amazon both made huge offers but Disney gave her total creative control and ownership. They wanted the crown jewel.”<\/p>\n
Per a Hollywood exec, “This isn\u2019t just a concert. It\u2019s the closing chapter of the biggest live event in history. Taylor\u2019s not an artist anymore\u2014she\u2019s an empire. Disney just paid a fortune to be part of it.”<\/p>\n
Taylor shared news of her docuseries and concert film on Instagram (both premiere on December 12, FYI!), saying, “It was the End of an Era and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety. The Eras Tour | The Final Show, featuring the entire Tortured Poets Department set, and the first two episodes of The End of an Era, a 6-episode behind-the-scenes docuseries will be yours December 12th on @disneyplus.”<\/p>\n
