The European Commission said Tuesday that Greece has satisfactorily completed the 32 milestones and seven targets set out in the Council Implementing Decision for the sixth instalment of funds under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), the centerpiece of NextGenerationEU.<\/p>\n

Following its assessment of Greece\u2019s sixth payment request for 2.44 billion euros, it said it had \u201cassessed it positively\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reforms and investments tied to this payment request will drive positive change for citizens and businesses in Greece \u2013 notably in the areas of healthcare, education, public administration and taxation,\u201d the commission said in a press release.<\/p>\n

Flagship measures tied to this payment request include introducing a legal framework to support renewable hydrogen and sustainable biomethane;
setting up a national digital health record database for doctors and patients;
increasing the number of personal doctors.<\/p>\n

Greece has also said it will use the funds to put interactive learning systems into 36,000 classrooms; set up a new taxpayer information platform; establish a judicial police force; install 12,200 solar panels for homes and farms to use their own generated electricity; and connect businesses\u2019 online cash registers to the Independent Authority for Public Revenue to streamline process flows.<\/p>\n

Greece submitted its payment request on July 18, 2025.
