The brand new RED BAND trailer for \u201cIT: Welcome to Derry<\/strong>\u201d has arrived, and it\u2019s loaded with terrifying new imagery including Pennywise and his many forms. The eight-episode prequel series \u201cIT: Welcome to Derry\u201d premieres Sunday, October 26,<\/strong> at 9pm ET\/PT on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.<\/p>\n

New episodes will debut weekly leading up to the season finale on December 14.<\/p>\n

Serving as an expansion of\u00a0Andy Muschietti<\/strong>\u2019s\u00a0IT\u00a0films based on\u00a0Stephen King<\/strong>\u2018s 1986 novel, the first season is set in 1962. Muschietti himself directs multiple episodes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWelcome to Derry\u201d will kick off its story in 1962 in the time leading up to the events of\u00a0It: Chapter One\u00a0(2017). From there, the planned second and third seasons will jump back in time and take place in their own distinct decades. The series is based on Mike Hanlon\u2019s interludes from King\u2019s book, which document \u201ccatastrophic events\u201d from Derry, Maine\u2019s past.<\/p>\n

If the first season of \u201cWelcome to Derry\u201d ends up being a hit for Max, the second season would jump back in time to 1935, while the planned third season would take place in 1908.<\/p>\n

Bill Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/strong> returns as Pennywise, alongside Jovan Adepo\u00a0<\/strong>(\u201cThe Stand\u201d),\u00a0Taylour Paige\u00a0<\/strong>(The Toxic Avenger),\u00a0Chris Chalk\u00a0<\/strong>(\u201cGotham\u201d),\u00a0James Remar<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cDexter\u201d),\u00a0Stephen Rider<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cDaredevil\u201d),\u00a0Madeleine Stowe<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cRevenge\u201d), and\u00a0Rudy Mancuso<\/strong>\u00a0(The Flash).<\/p>\n

Alixandra Fuchs<\/strong>\u00a0(Boogeyman Pop),\u00a0Kimberly Guerrero<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cReservation Dogs\u201d),\u00a0Dorian Grey<\/strong>\u00a0(Star Trek: Discovery),\u00a0Thomas Mitchell<\/strong>\u00a0(Spiral: From the Book of Saw),\u00a0BJ Harrison<\/strong>\u00a0(Rise of the Planet of the Apes),\u00a0Peter Outerbridge<\/strong>\u00a0(Saw VI),\u00a0Shane Marriott<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cFargo\u201d),\u00a0Chad Rook<\/strong>\u00a0(Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City),\u00a0Joshua Odjick<\/strong>\u00a0(The Long Walk),\u00a0and\u00a0Morningstar Angeline\u00a0<\/strong>(\u201cEcho\u201d) round out the cast.<\/p>\n

It: Chapter Two\u00a0co-producer\u00a0Jason Fuchs<\/strong>, who wrote the teleplay for the first episode, and\u00a0Brad Caleb Kane<\/strong> (Peacock\u2019s upcoming \u201cCrystal Lake\u201d) serve as co-showrunners.<\/p>\n
