<a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/wealth\/invest\/epf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Provident Fund<\/a> Organisation (<a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/wealth\/invest\/epfo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">EPFO<\/a>) will now be able to fully withdraw their PF and pension funds only after 12 months and 36 months of unemployment, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The EPFO&#8217;s central board of trustees, headed by labour and employment minister <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/m.economictimes.com\/topic\/mansukh-mandaviya\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mansukh Mandaviya<\/a>, has also made it mandatory to maintain a minimum balance of 25% of the PF corpus at all times.<\/p>\n<p>Till now, the scheme provided for withdrawal of all funds after two months of continuous unemployment, and there was no condition of maintaining a minimum balance.<br \/>&#8220;25% of the total PF account balance will be maintained lifelong, and the remaining (75%) can be withdrawn through six transactions in a year,&#8221; Mandaviya said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The new scheme, amended at a board of trustees&#8217; meeting on Monday, will offer timely access to funds, while ensuring a minimum corpus to dip into for its subscribers when finally settling their account, the minister said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ET logo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1756640479_840_118783427.cms.png\" width=\"90%\"\/>Live Events<br \/>The 25% rule has been framed keeping in mind that 87% of all members had less than Rs 1 lakh in their PF account at the time of settlement.&#8221;The subscribers can also transfer their corpus to the pension account,&#8221;
