{"id":124033,"date":"2025-10-15T16:53:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-15T16:53:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/124033\/"},"modified":"2025-10-15T16:53:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T16:53:09","slug":"clouds-of-gold-wildlife-photographer-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/124033\/","title":{"rendered":"Clouds of Gold | Wildlife Photographer of the Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jassen Todorov&#8217;s Image<\/p>\n<p>Jassen Todorov (USA) depicts the clouds reflected in salt ponds that span San Francisco Bay.<\/p>\n<p>Flying his single-engine Piper Warrior into San Francisco International Airport, Jassen never tires of the changing colours of the ponds.<\/p>\n<p>On this occasion, he says, \u201cthe light during the golden hour, at sunset, was magnificent\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The process of salt collection in the bay was industrialised in the 1800s.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2003, the South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project has acquired 6,000 hectares (nearly 15,000 acres).<\/p>\n<p>The project is removing artificial dykes to recreate tidal marsh habitat.
