The two companies intend to leverage their respective hardware and software expertise to promote \u201ca new indigenous AI development paradigm\u201d, according to a WeChat<\/a> post by SenseTime, in response to the \u201cAI Plus\u201d strategy<\/a> unveiled in August by the State Council<\/a>, China\u2019s cabinet.Beijing has made self-reliance across China\u2019s AI stack \u2013 from integrated circuits to AI models \u2013 a national priority, as infrastructure buildout is expected to be a major theme in the country\u2019s development of a 15th five-year plan<\/a>.The strategic cooperation is expected to result in a synthesis of Hong Kong<\/a>-headquartered SenseTime\u2019s foundational models with Beijing<\/a>-based Cambricon\u2019s growing suite of AI processors, according to Wednesday\u2019s post.<\/p>\n

The two companies said they would jointly develop AI computing solutions and \u201call-in-one\u201d vertical enterprise services, as well as explore \u201cpooling regional industrial resources \u2026 to build more dynamic and influential regional AI ecosystems\u201d.<\/p>\n
