{"id":125152,"date":"2025-10-16T05:23:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-16T05:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/125152\/"},"modified":"2025-10-16T05:23:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T05:23:10","slug":"heather-humphreys-confirms-she-attended-an-event-which-is-being-investigated-by-gardai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/125152\/","title":{"rendered":"Heather Humphreys confirms she attended an event which is being investigated by garda\u00ed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fine Gael presidential candidate <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishexaminer.com\/news\/arid-41723883.html\">Heather Humphreys<\/a> has confirmed that an event she attended earlier this year is being investigated by garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>There is no suggestion of wrongdoing on the part of Ms Humphreys or any attendees.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Garda\u00ed are investigating allegations about the event&#8217;s disbursement of funds to nominated charities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Speaking at her former school in Cootehill, Ms Humphreys confirmed she had been at the event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">&#8220;I attended an event in Monaghan. It was a charity event, and I attended that event along with many others, and there was concern that perhaps that the money that we had contributed to that event may have been defrauded.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">&#8220;And of course there is an investigation by the garda\u00ed, but I just want to say that the garda\u00ed have very, very clearly stated that there was absolutely no wrongdoing on behalf of anybody that attended that event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">&#8220;We all attended it and we contributed to it in good faith.
