Gladys Knight<\/a> is clearing the air about her health.<\/p>\n

The 81-year-old singer is currently touring with fellow musical legends Chaka Khan<\/a>, Patti Labelle<\/a>, and Stephanie Mills<\/a>. Her son, Shanga Hankerson<\/a>, claims that Gladys is being \u201cemotionally and financially\u201d abused and forced to perform by her husband.<\/p>\n

Now, Gladys is breaking her silence and sharing an update on her health. According to the singer, she\u2019 \u201chappy and healthy\u201d and her son\u2019s accusations have no weight to them.<\/p>\n

Shanga<\/a> previously told The Shade Room<\/a> that Gladys is in no state to be performing, claiming that she was \u201czoned out\u201d on the stage. He went on to accuse Gladys\u2018 husband, William McDowell<\/a>, of forcing her to continue performing despite this.<\/p>\n

Gladys responded to these claims in a statement to People in which she insisted that Shanga\u2018s claims were entirely false.<\/p>\n
