One of EastEnders<\/a>‘ most hard-hitting storylines is reaching its end as a key character may soon be leaving the soap. After building up Joel Marshall’s radical misogyny storyline for weeks, the subplot took a dark turn when the teen viciously attacked his dad’s partner<\/a>, Vicki Fowler, in recent scenes.<\/p>\n

The soap, which also aired a toxic masculinity and online misogyny documentary to tie in with those scenes, will see Joel’s storyline reaching a head in the coming weeks as star Max Murray has been tipped to leave Walford.<\/p>\n

According to Metro.co.uk<\/a>, Murray will be exiting the soap after his stint, though the end of his storyline promises “lots to come”.<\/p>\n

“Max is leaving EastEnders following an incredible year,” a source suggested to the outlet, while teasing more Joel scenes.<\/p>\n

If confirmed, this means that EastEnders fans haven’t seen the last of Joel just yet. <\/p>\n

The character is currently held in a detention centre as his dad Ross, who knew about his actions but tried to reason with him, is spiralling and turning to the bottle after separating from Vicki.<\/p>\n

As Vicki is headed to the Lake District with Sharon and Kathy in an attempt to take her mind off things, she’s upset to find out that Harvey had agreed to give Ross a place to stay.<\/p>\n

EastEnders<\/strong> airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.<\/strong><\/p>\n
