While Goldie Hawn<\/a> has a big birthday coming up, son Oliver Hudson says her family plans to keep the celebration “chill”<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Speaking to PEOPLE in an exclusive interview, he admits he broached the idea of taking a big family trip<\/p>\n<\/li>\n “We’re going to keep it pretty chill because that’s what she wants,” he added<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n While Goldie Hawn<\/a> has a big birthday coming up, her family members plan to keep the celebration “chill.”<\/p>\n Speaking to PEOPLE in an exclusive interview, Hawn’s son Oliver Hudson<\/a> noted that his mom will turn 80 on November 21.<\/p>\n Hudson, 49, will soon star alongside Alicia Silverstone<\/a>\u00a0in the Netflix holiday rom-com\u00a0A Merry Little Ex-Mas<\/a>, about a separated couple who choose to spend the holidays together for the sake of the their children.<\/p>\n Speaking about the film, Hudson said the holiday season is “the best time of year” for his family, adding: “We’ve got Thanksgiving coming up. I’m over here, Kate’s working here, so we’re always scattered and doing our thing and this is the three weeks where we are all together,” he said of he and his siblings, including brother Wyatt Russell<\/a> and sister\u00a0Kate Hudson<\/a>.<\/p>\n Hudson added: “It’s the most special time of the year for sure.”<\/p>\n Goldie, Oliver, Kate and\u00a0Kurt Russell<\/a>\u00a0(Goldie’s longtime partner who helped raise her children) were all pictured together recently at the 2025 Will Rogers Pioneer of the Year Dinner.<\/a><\/p>\n Steve Granitz\/WireImage<\/p>\n Oliver Hudson, Kurt Russell, Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson and Wyatt Russell arrives at the Goldie Hawn Hosts Annual Goldie’s Love In For Kids on May 6, 2016.<\/p>\n Hudson’s latest film is also a family affair, with his 18-year-old son\u00a0Wilder<\/a>\u00a0making his movie debut in A Merry Little Ex-Mas.<\/p>\n Speaking to PEOPLE, Hudson explained how Wilder “had never done anything before” and “had just finished an acting class outside of school” when he got the part of Gabriel, the son of Oliver’s Everett in the Netflix rom-com.<\/p>\n In a scene near the end of\u00a0A Merry Little Ex-Mas, Wilder’s Gabriel delivers an emotional monologue. Oliver says, “He was really nervous about it, because it was a big speech.”<\/p>\n “I’m sitting there listening in the movie, and after his first take, I, for the first time, just started crying. Because I couldn’t believe\u00a0that this was my son<\/a>,” he says of Wilder. “I stepped out of myself a little bit, and I’m like, ‘This is my son who is doing great and who has never done this before.
