If you’re itching for a hair chang<\/a>e this season but don’t want to do anything too drastic, look to Amal Clooney<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The lawyer – and one of Red’s forever muses – showcased a subtle but effective hair transformation<\/a> at The Albies, an awards ceremony hosted by The Clooney Foundation that rewards human rights defenders. <\/p>\n

Known as much for her enviably thick, XXXL lengths as she is her impressive career, Clooney decided to cut off between six to eight inches of hair, said<\/a> her stylist Dimitris Giannetos in an interview with Vogue. ‘She’s never had a cut like this before,’ he said. <\/p>\n

We took the question to Zo\u00eb Irwin<\/a>, creative director at John Frieda Salons. ‘Getting regular trims means the bottom of the hair is kind of refreshed; you get more length almost because you’re strengthening the hair,’ she says. ‘You might have a broken end, for example. Regular trims take that off and gives it strength to carry on growing downwards. I’m a fan of what I call a ‘grazing’ cut,’ she continues. ‘I’ll take half a centimeter off every time I colour my clients every eight to 12 weeks. ‘<\/p>\n
