{"id":127151,"date":"2025-10-17T03:04:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-17T03:04:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/127151\/"},"modified":"2025-10-17T03:04:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T03:04:08","slug":"paul-murphy-brings-defamation-case-against-heather-humphreys-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/127151\/","title":{"rendered":"Paul Murphy brings defamation case against Heather Humphreys \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/people-before-profit-solidarity-pbps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/people-before-profit-solidarity-pbps\/\">People Before Profit<\/a> TD <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/paul-murphy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/paul-murphy\/\">Paul Murphy<\/a> has lodged defamation proceedings in the High Court against Fine Gael <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/presidential-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/presidential-election\/\">presidential<\/a> candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/heather-humphreys\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/heather-humphreys\">Heather Humphreys<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The proceedings were lodged on Wednesday by solicitors Prospect Law, for Mr Murphy. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Mr Murphy is seeking damages for alleged defamation in comments made by Ms Humphreys in a debate on RT\u00c9 Radio 1\u2019s This Week programme last Sunday.
