With thousands still on a high of Oasis fever after an electric weekend in Croke Park, thoughts have turned to when we might see the band in Ireland again.<\/p>\n

After more than a deade away, the Gallagher brothers finally put their differences aside and took to an Irish stage again on Saturday and Sunday night, to a raptuorous Croker crowd.<\/p>\n

They were the first gigs played by the band since they headlined Slane in June 2009, just two months before the initial break-up of Oasis.<\/p>\n

Just days after Oasis’ raucous Irish return, rumours have begun to swirl that they may return to the site of that 2009 gig next summer.<\/p>\n

The future of the band beyond this year’s reunion tour is uncertain, with no confirmed plans to record new music and no confirmed gigs beyond the last of 2025 in South America.<\/p>\n

However, rumours abound that Oasis will return to Europe next summer, and the odds of them playing the 2026 Slane Festival have shortened dramatically this week.<\/p>\n

Ladbrokes have Oasis at 2\/1 to be the headliners of the festival, which has taken two years off since Harry Styles headlined in 2023.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, the lord of Slane Castle, Alex Conyngham, said that Oasis were always welcome to return<\/a> to the venue they have headlined twice, further fuelling speculation of a mega 2026 gig:<\/p>\n

I was delighted for the fans\u2026not many bands could have people out singing in the streets like that.<\/p>\n

Oasis would always be welcome at Slane.<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t want to box ourselves in…over the years, we’ve been known to switch genres.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

As speculation mounts, Noel Gallagher has now commented on the possibility of more Irish dates, refusing to rule out a tour of Europe next summer.<\/p>\n

Noel Gallagher addresses Oasis tour reports as Slane gig rumoured<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking to talkSPORT<\/a> this week after Oasis’ return to Dublin, Noel Gallagher was asked whether the band would be back on tour in Europe in 2026.<\/p>\n

Alongside Slane, a repeat of the iconic 1996 gigs at Knebworth has been teased, and Gallagher was coy on whether there was a possibility of a return to either venue.<\/p>\n

“Right, let’s talk about football,” Gallagher joked when asked about a return to Knebworth, giving nothing away as to Oasis’ plans for 2026.<\/p>\n

Should they return to Europe next summer, it would be no surprise to see Oasis play Slane again, as they are famously big fans of the venue and very close to their Irish roots<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking to RT\u00c9 News ahead of the band’s gig at Slane in 2009, Noel Gallagher remembered their first visit to the famous venue in 1995.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, they were a support act for R.E.M., and Gallagher remembered it as a seminal moment in the band’s history.<\/p>\n

I guess it’s one of those, it’s like Wembley stadium and the legendary gigs that, if you get successful enough, you get to do.<\/p>\n

I remember the first day we played here with R.E.M., it was really hot and sunny. I dunno, I guess we kind of got a sense of what was possible after playing to all those people.<\/p>\n

It was the first really big outdoor show we’d ever done. It was good.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Oasis at Slane in 2026 would be nothing short of biblical.<\/p>\n
