{"id":129601,"date":"2025-10-18T06:02:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-18T06:02:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/129601\/"},"modified":"2025-10-18T06:02:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-18T06:02:10","slug":"hsbc-expects-golds-bull-wave-to-hit-us5000-an-ounce-in-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/129601\/","title":{"rendered":"HSBC expects gold\u2019s \u2018bull wave\u2019 to hit US$5,000 an ounce in 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The bank has cited geopolitical risks, economic policy uncertainty and rising public debt as factors supporting the price<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">[BENGALURU] HSBC on Friday (Oct 17) forecast that gold\u2019s bull rally would drive prices as high as US$5,000 an ounce in 2026, supported by elevated risks and the impact of new entrants into the market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">Spot gold breached the US$4,300 level on Thursday and was headed for its strongest week since December 2008.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">The advance has been fuelled by geopolitical tensions, robust central bank buying, rising exchange-traded-fund inflows, expectations of US rate cuts and tariff-related economic uncertainties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">\u201cThe bull market is likely to continue to press prices higher for 1H\u201926 and we could very well reach a high of US$5,000\/oz some time in 1H 2026,\u201d HSBC said in a research note.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">HSBC also raised its 2025 average gold price forecast to US$3,455 per ounce from US$3,355 previously.
