Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, the Kantara Chapter 1 actor recounted how an invitation to an afterparty hosted by Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan turned into a moment of self-reflection about belonging and comfort in Bollywood’s inner circles.

Gulshan addressed a long-standing misconception about his visit. Some reports had suggested that he “barged” into Mannat, but he clarified the story himself. “I didn’t barge in, I was invited. Agar Shah Rukh Khan ke ghar mai ghusa hota toh abhi jail mai hota (If I had barged in Shah Rukh’s house, I would have been in jail). Some journalist must have heard the word gatecrash for the first time in an English movie, and that is why they used that,” he explained, putting the rumors to rest.

The actor recalled the context of the invitation, stating that the gathering followed the announcement of the 2012 Filmfare nominations. While he was expected to be nominated, the results were not announced in his segment, prompting him to attend the party along with his wife, Kallirroi Tziafeta, and fellow industry colleagues Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin. “Anurag and Kalki were a little hesitant at first, but Shah Rukh insisted, and asked them to bring me along as well,” Gulshan said.
A Feeling of Being an OutsiderDespite the warm welcome, the actor admitted that he struggled to feel comfortable. “The entrance of Mannat isn’t where people think it is. It’s actually a separate road that takes you there… I stayed there for about three hours and I was very uncomfortable during the whole time. I felt like I didn’t belong there,” he shared. He described seeing several high-profile personalities, including Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, which contributed to his sense of unease.
However, Gulshan noted that Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan were exceptionally kind and welcoming, making an effort to put him at ease. “Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan were very sweet to me even though it’s not their job to make me feel comfortable,” he added. He also found solace in interacting with Australian actor Joel Edgerton, with whom he had a lengthy conversation and felt a shared sense of being an outsider in the crowd. The Lesson he learnt

Gulshan said the Mannat experience ultimately helped him grow. Spending those three hours feeling out of place became a turning point, making him aware of his own insecurities about belonging in the industry. “Those people are all high achievers,” he reflected, adding that such situations taught him the importance of being at ease wherever his career takes him.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is currently filming his next big project, King, an action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand, known for Pathaan. The film features Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, and Raghav Juyal in key roles. After delivering consecutive hits with Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki, SRK will share the screen with his daughter Suhana for the first time. King, slated for a 2026 release, also marks his return to full-on action role following a cameo in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba**ds of Bollywood*.

Add as a Reliable and Trusted News Source

Actor Gulshan Devaiah recently reflected on a memorable night at Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic residence, Mannat — one…

[263
2157,6962,18,117,11196,70916,19,17,79242,327,3770
0":"post-132133","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-movies","8":"tag-bollywood","9":"tag-bollywood-news","10":"tag-eire","11":"tag-entertainment","12":"tag-gauri-khan","13":"tag-gulshan-devaiah","14":"tag-ie","15":"tag-ireland","16":"tag-mannat-party","17":"tag-movies","18":"tag-shah-rukh-khan
["GET
