Aldi has issued an urgent recall for a popular bakery item sold across its Irish stores due to potential health risks it could pose to certain customers. The company is urging anyone who has bought the affected product to cease consumption immediately and return it to any Aldi<\/a> store for a full refund – no receipt necessary.<\/p>\n On Friday, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland announced that Aldi had recalled a batch of its PYB02 PANATAS Part-Baked custard tarts. The recall was initiated as certain batches of this popular product contain cereals with gluten (wheat), eggs, and milk, which are not declared on the label, reports the Irish Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n “This may make the product unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of cereals containing gluten (wheat), eggs and milk and therefore, these consumers should not eat the implicated product, a spokesperson for the food safety watchdog said in a statement.” a spokesperson for the food safety watchdog said. “The affected product is being recalled from Aldi stores.”<\/p>\n Households are being urged to check their cupboards, fridges, and freezers for any affected items that may have been purchased prior to the recall. Aldi has expressed regret over the incident and also advised customers against consuming the affected Part-Baked custard tarts.<\/p>\n An Aldi spokesperson stated: “As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling PYB02 PANATAS Part-Baked 6 Pack because it contains the allergens egg, milk, and wheat and may contain hazelnut, soya, and sesame, which are not listed on the packaging. Anyone who bought this product should return it to their nearest store for a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.<\/p>\n “We have removed this product from sale in all stores and are recalling all affected products.
