While singing the \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/album\/sabrina-carpenter-mans-best-friend-review-review-3889055\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Man\u2019s Best Friend<\/a>\u2018 track, she sported pink SNL underwear and danced around the room, later being joined by a sax soloist.<\/p>\n<p>She followed it up with \u2018Nobody\u2019s Son\u2019, where she sang in a martial-arts setting in a bejewelled karate gi. Per <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/music\/news\/sabrina-carpenter-snl-monologue-1236556346\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Variety<\/a>, the track song stirred up controversy after the East Coast feed showed her singing the words \u201cfucked up\u201d twice, uncensored.<\/p>\n<p>West coast viewers, however, then reported that the audio was cut in those two instances, with censors apparently having more of a tape delay for that feed.<\/p>\n<p>Last night marked the first time Carpenter has hosted the show, but she was previously a musical guest on season 49. The musician was also part of the show\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/paul-mccartney-sabrina-carpenter-paul-simon-and-more-added-to-snl-50-concert-3838256\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">50th anniversary celebrations back in February,\u00a0<\/a>at one point appearing in a sketch where she sang an off-key version of \u2018Espresso\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Carpenter has also been announced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/coachella-2026-sabrina-carpenter-justin-bieber-and-karol-g-to-headline-3892767\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">as one of the headliners of next year\u2019s Coachella<\/a> alongside\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/justin-bieber\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Justin Bieber<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/karol-g\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Karol G<\/a>. After days of speculation, she was confirmed to be closing out the Friday night of both weekends at the desert music festival.<\/p>\n<p>Coachella 2026 will take place between April 10 and 12, and again on April 17 to 19. As for tickets,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/coachella.com\/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAadGMiylW3FGIBeacDqGGjr8De-NaDgNhD7a8b0DEvcSIWIoqInMnF4T8TGWQA_aem_xXozlC9P9CAHGzc0ZmE4Zg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">you\u2019ll be able to get yours here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Man\u2019s Best Friend\u2019 scored a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/album\/sabrina-carpenter-mans-best-friend-review-review-3889055\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">four-star review from\u00a0NME<\/a>, with Nick Levine writing: \u201cMusically, this album isn\u2019t markedly different from its predecessor, though it has a few more country-leaning cuts sprinkled among the daytime disco and featherlight funk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt also sticks to Carpenter\u2019s winning formula of pairing sticky melodies with pithy lyrics about the flaws and allure of inadequate males. If there were a Bechdel Test for pop albums, \u2018Man\u2019s Best Friend\u2019 wouldn\u2019t be in danger of passing it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Carpenter recently joked that her label\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/sabrina-carpenter-reacts-after-learning-only-200-vinyl-copies-of-her-debut-album-were-made-damn-they-really-didnt-give-a-fuck-about-me-3891165\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201creally didn\u2019t give a fuck\u201d<\/a>\u00a0about her after learning there were only 200 copies of her debut album made for vinyl.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Sabrina Carpenter performed \u2018Manchild\u2019 and \u2018Nobody\u2019s Son\u2019 on Saturday Night Live \u2013 check out footage below.
