Charlie Puth<\/a> brought out Jeff Goldblum<\/a> in Los Angeles for a cover of Cyndi Lauper<\/a>\u2019s \u2018Time After Time\u2019 \u2013 watch footage below.<\/p>\n

The singer is gearing up to release his latest album \u2018Whatever\u2019s Clever\u2019 on March 6, 2026, and in anticipation he played a string of four dates at New York\u2019s Blue Note Jazz Club last month, and on Thursday (October 16), he began a similar four-night run at the Los Angeles branch of Blue Note.<\/p>\n

At the second show on Friday (October 17), he welcomed out the star of The Fly, Jurassic Park<\/a> and Wicked<\/a>, joking as he introduced him: \u201cI love to give a new up-and-coming singer a chance\u201d.<\/p>\n

Goldblum, whose own music career has been flourishing in recent years, sang a version of the jazz standard \u2018Every Time We Say Goodbye\u2019, as well as an interpolation of Lauper\u2019s 1984 classic \u2018Time After Time\u2019. Goldblum is a former colleague of Lauper\u2019s, with the two having co-starred in 1988\u2019s Vibes.<\/p>\n

\u2018Whatever\u2019s Clever\u2019 will be Puth\u2019s fourth studio album, and this week he gave fans the first taste of it with the single \u2018Changes\u2019, which you can check out here:<\/p>\n

Puth also made headlines last year after being on the end of a shout out on\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2019s album \u2018The Tortured Poets Department<\/a>\u2019. On the record\u2019s title track, Swift sang:\u00a0\u201cYou smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate \/ We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist.\u201d<\/p>\n

Puth responded to the song by thanking Swift and\u00a0crediting her for inspiring him to write \u201cone of the hardest songs\u201d he\u2019s ever written<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Goldblum released \u2018Still Blooming<\/a>\u2019, his latest album with the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, in April, and played a major show at the London Palladium to celebrate<\/a>. It included collaborations with Scarlett Johansson<\/a>, as well as his Wicked co-stars Ariana Grande<\/a> and Cynthia Erivo.<\/p>\n
