{"id":133878,"date":"2025-10-20T12:32:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T12:32:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/133878\/"},"modified":"2025-10-20T12:32:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T12:32:09","slug":"amazon-internet-outages-impact-travel-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/133878\/","title":{"rendered":"Amazon Internet Outages Impact Travel Industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.travelpulse.com\/bio\/donald-wood\" title=\"Donald Wood\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Donald-Wood.jpg\" alt=\"Donald Wood\" title=\"Donald Wood\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"author-image w-80 w-48\"\/><\/a>by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.travelpulse.com\/bio\/donald-wood\" title=\"Donald Wood\" class=\"author-name\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Donald Wood<\/a><br \/> Last updated: 8:20 AM ET, Mon October 20, 2025<\/p>\n<p>Widespread internet outages related to an issue with the Amazon<br \/>\ncloud computing company impacted travel early on Monday morning, with major<br \/>\nairlines reporting issues with check-in and reservation functions.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Business\/widespread-internet-outage-aws-monday\/story?id=126672671\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">ABCNews.com<\/a>,<br \/>\nthe websites of several major airlines in the United States, including Delta<br \/>\nAir Lines and United Airlines, were impacted by the hours-long disruption of<br \/>\nAmazon Web Services (AWS).<\/p>\n<p>While neither carrier commented about the outage, customers<br \/>\nreported that they were unable to access flight check-in functions or their<br \/>\nreservations on Monday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On X, a United representative said the airline was \u201cexperiencing<br \/>\na system glitch affecting our online tools.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The United representative also said, \u201cWhile we don\u2019t have a<br \/>\nconfirmed timeline yet, we recommend checking back periodically for updates,\u201d<br \/>\naccording to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/10\/20\/amazon-web-services-outage-hits-airline-websites-other-major-sites.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Flight delays related to the outage were minimal, according<br \/>\nto <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flightaware.com\/live\/cancelled\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">FlightAware.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After several hours of issues, Amazon issued a statement on<br \/>\nthe outages, saying, \u201cWe are seeing significant signs of recovery. Most<br \/>\nrequests should now be succeeding. We continue to work through a backlog of<br \/>\nqueued requests.
