Florence + The Machine<\/a> have dropped the epic title track from new album \u2018Everybody Scream\u2019. Check it out below.<\/p>\n

The song arrives after Florence Welch<\/a> took to social media yesterday (August 19) to confirm the details of a sixth album<\/a>. Set for release on October 31, it follows on from the 2022 album \u2018Dance Fever\u2019<\/a>, and is said to be inspired by mysticism and witchcraft.<\/p>\n

Inspiration for the record stems from singer Welch undergoing lifesaving surgery<\/a> during the \u2018Dance Fever Tour\u2019 and starting to look into spiritual mysticism and folk horror \u2013 understanding the limits of her body and questioning what it means to be \u201chealed\u201d.<\/p>\n

These are themes that helped shape the record, along with exploration of womanhood, partnership, aging, and dying. All songs were written and produced by Welch over the past two years, and contributions to the LP come from IDLES<\/a>\u2019 Mark Bowen, Mitski<\/a>, and The National<\/a>\u2019s Aaron Dessner<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Today (August 20) sees the release of the title track and an accompanying music video directed by Autumn de Wilde and featuring Bowen.<\/p>\n

The album will comprise 12 songs and is available to pre-order here<\/a>. There will also be \u2018Chamber Versions\u2019 of CD and vinyl editions which contain four bonus tracks, and a \u2018Bloodwood Edition\u2019 of the cassette, which features a different cover.<\/p>\n

Speculation about a new Florence + The Machine album got momentum last month, when the singer hinted at new material on Instagram.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

One of the photos in her post showed a whiteboard reading: \u201cYou can have it all,\u201d before listing off \u201cClarity, power, purpose, vocals, space, dynamics and beauty\u201d. Flo also mentioned \u201cWitchcraft, folk horror, mysticism, magic, poetry [and] insanity\u201d in the post, and shared a photograph of Simon Critchley\u2019s 2024 book, On Mysticism.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, the group celebrated the 10th anniversary of <\/a>\u2018How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful\u2019<\/a>. That was their third record, arriving after their 2009 debut \u2018Lungs\u2019<\/a> and 2011\u2019s sophomore release \u2018Ceremonials\u2019<\/a>. It was followed by 2018\u2019s \u2018High As Hope\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Florence + The Machine celebrated 15 years of their debut album in 2024, playing a one-off orchestral show at London\u2019s historic Royal Albert Hall<\/a> as part of BBC Proms.
