Manchester United secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, and Bruno Fernandes believes the whole squad played a part in the result<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bryan Mbeumo had opened the scoring<\/a> against the Premier League champions inside the first two minutes, but Cody Gakpo\u2019s equaliser looked to have put the Reds on course to take all three points.<\/p>\n

However, Harry Maguire<\/a> had the last laugh, heading home from Fernandes\u2019 exquisite first-time cross to spark wild scenes along the touchline and the away end.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim\u2019s<\/a> tactical and selection decisions all paid off on Merseyside, and one late substitute could even have been the man of the match, according to his team-mates.<\/p>\n

Seconds after Maguire scored, Amorim was spotted calling for two players to get ready, and both Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro<\/a> were thrown into the fray to help Man United<\/a> see out the last knockings of the game.<\/p>\n

Yoro was crucial in the last-ditch rearguard heroics, making two clearances and winning an aerial duel, and he continues to justify the comparisons to Nemanja Vidic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Asked to name his man of the match, Bruno Fernandes<\/a> gave the 19-year-old a deserved mention.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of us. I would say Senne [Lammens], very good, very strong in the beginning,\u201d he told United\u2019s media team. \u201cHarry, obviously. Cunha, massive last few minutes to give us some help to have the ball. <\/p>\n

Matthijs de Ligt<\/a> also hailed Yoro\u2019s impact in his own post-match verdict, telling Stan Sport<\/a>: \u201cI think also today the subs made a really big difference. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf you see how Leny Yoro, for example, comes in for the last 15 minutes. As a defender, to come in last minute is the most difficult thing to do. But how he did it is amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yoro may have taken just six touches during his brief cameo, but he was decisive in helping United hold out against the red tide and claim a crucial three points.<\/p>\n

Maguire vindicated Amorim\u2019s decision to start him over Yoro, having been brought back into the side to deal with Liverpool\u2019s crosses and to keep a calm head in the derby.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season<\/a>, later revealed that the fact that he could have made his final appearance for United at Anfield had been playing on his mind.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been here seven years now, so it\u2019s been tough for the seven years not getting that win,\u201d said Maguire.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been on my mind a little bit, to be honest. <\/p>\n
