\n\tOne of Diane Keaton<\/a>\u2018s biggest loves in her life was her beloved golden retriever, Reggie, a pandemic puppy <\/a>who brought her so much joy in her later years.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter the Oscar legend passed away on Oct. 11 from pneumonia at the age of 79, many fans were concerned what would happen to her fur baby. Well, according to Rob Shuter\u2019s Naughty But Nice<\/a> Substack, the pampered pup will be well taken care of. The dog has been left $5 million trust out of her $100 million fortune<\/a> for everything from \u201ca private home, caretakers, and ongoing donations to animal charities in Keaton\u2019s name.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cReggie was her world,\u201d a Keaton pal told Shuter. \u201cDiane used to joke her great loves were her children, Al Pacino, architecture \u2014 and that dog.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s only fitting that the last public image<\/a> of Keaton was with Reggie in an April 11 post for the San Francisco home goods store, Hudson Grace. The Something\u2019s Gotta Give star had partnered up with the lifestyle brand in 2024 to create a line of home decor, that, of course, included dog beds and treats.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cProof our pets have great taste too! Happy National Pet Day from HG & @diane_keaton \ud83d\udda4\ud83d\udc3e,\u201d the company wrote in the caption.<\/p>\n

\n\tKeaton introduced<\/a> Reggie to her Instagram followers in October 2020 with the cutest photo and message, \u201cTHIS IS MY NEW DOG, REGGIE!!! IS SHE HALF HORSE OR HALF DOG? MAYBE SHE\u2019S INSANE! I LOVE HER!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFans also learned more about Reggie\u2019s origin story in a March 2023 feature with AARP the Magazine.<\/a> She revealed, \u201cI didn\u2019t even ask for her. [A friend] came to me and said, \u2018I think you need this dog.\u2019 I was like, \u201cOK, I guess?\u2019 Of course, now I just love her. Dogs are irresistible. They\u2019re just idiots. Reggie is a big jerk, and she\u2019s a great jerk, and she\u2019s hilarious.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKeaton\u2019s pals aren\u2019t surprised that she included Reggie in her will because she was such an animal lover. \u201cShe wanted Reggie to live with the same dignity and humor she did,\u201d a second source told Shuter. \u201cIt\u2019s the most Diane thing ever \u2014 eccentric, kind, and deeply loving.\u201d<\/p>\n
